Event overview
Enjoy night orienteering at Champoeg Park!  Participants, whether runners or walkers, will choose between a 60 or 90 minute score-o, visit as many control points as possible, and make it back within the time limit. Points will be taken off for each minute over.  Registration will be indoors at the RV Meeting Hall near the campgrounds. Follow the orienteering signs to get there. Tent camping is available in this area for those who wish to spend the night.

A mixture of easy-to-find and more challenging control locations throughout the park should offer suitable options for experienced orienteers or for those new to the pleasures of Night-O.

Brief beginner orientations will be available from 5:30 until 6:30.

All teams must check out through the course finish gate before leaving the park, even if the team does not finish the course or returns after the course closes.

Please bring a quality flash light with fresh batteries, clothing appropriate for the weather, and a watch.  A reflector vest is a nice, but optional, item. 

Registration and other costs
The event is open to the public.
Note: If you join CROC at this event, ($15 individual, $20 family/group annual membership), your event fee is FREE!  Ask about this at meet registration.

All participants must register and sign the liability waiver before entering the course.

The Columbia River Orienteering Club fees are:

    $8 - individual (non-member)
    $12 - group (non-member, going out using one map)
    $6 - individual (club member)
    $10 - group (club member, going out using one map)
    $2 - extra copy of color map
    $1 - compass rental

Each participant or team receives a course map and a control description sheet.

These fees do not include any extra daily use fee charged by the park. You must pay these separately. Oregon State parks charges $5 for day use, $30 for a 12 month pass and $50 for a 24 month pass.
