The ski season is off to a slow start because of low snow conditions, but we expect to have good conditions in February. Our first event will be a 4 km course at Mt. Hood Meadows Nordic Center. Please check the CROC website before driving to the mountain to make sure the trail conditions are adequate for the event.
Registration opens at 10 am. Starts are from 11 am to noon.
We plan to include electronic timing so participants can compare split times between controls.
The individual or team time is posted on the CROC web site a couple of days after the event.
The event is open to the public. Note: If you join CROC at this event, ($15 individual, $20 family/group annual membership), your event fee is FREE! Ask about this at meet registration. All participants must register and sign the liability waiver before entering the course. The Columbia River Orienteering Club fees are:
- $8 - individual (non-member)
- $12 - group (non-member, going out using one map)
- $6 - individual (club member)
- $10 - group (club member, going out using one map)
- $1 - extra copy of color map
- $1 - compass rental
- $1 - epunch rental
Each participant or team receives a course map and a control description sheet.
In addition to the $8 event cost, there is a $15 trail fee, and a sno-park permit is required. Rental equipment is available at the Nordic Center.
Mt. Hood Meadows (lower lot) is located across from the Teacup Lake sno-park, on Hwy 35, eight miles east of the Hwy 26 split.
