Teacup Ski-O

Again the weather gods smiled upon our little ski-O with beautiful
sunshine and great snow.  Elis Eberlein made short work of the long
course with a speedy 49 minutes.  He was followed by one of the Teacup
locals, Michael Bobbit, who finished in 75 minutes.  Immediately after
he finished, he had to take the emergency sled out to help a lady who
hurt herself on one of the downhills.  She wasn't one of ours because
we would never set a course like that.  Or would we...?  Another one
of the locals, Ellen Bartholomew, no relation, was the fastest woman
at 99 minutes.

On the medium course, the dynamic duo of Margaret and John Petersen
used a mere 96 minutes to cover the 7Km.  Joe Hallett made the long
drive up from southern Oregon to show us that classic wooden skis
still work just as well as fancy fiberglass composites.  Of special
note, Dylan Bartholomew set the record for eating girl scout cookies
at 15.

Avi Minsky posted the first time on the short course at 40 minutes,
which withstood all challenges.  This was his first time on cross
country skis.  He was very excited and said that he will bring ski-o
back to Israel with him.  Adrian Harrison and Kristina Nylander were
second at 52 minutes.

A side note on our DNFs.  Jerry had to finish early because of
cantankerous skis.  Celine Stroinski had to quit early because of a
cantankerous baby.

Super kudos for Mike Poulsen who set the courses, put out all of the
controls the day before the meet, and ordered the weather.  Thank you
to Jerry Rhodes who helped with registration and Joe Hallett who
offered to help with the control pickup but unfortunately we already
had plenty of control picker uppers.  Thanks to Agilent Technologies
who provided the maps.  A special thank you to the Teacup Nordic Club
for the use of their facilities.
