Contour Lines - How To Use Them

  • Saturday, October 8, 2022

  • 10:00 a.m. - 11:15

  • Catherine Creek, near Lyle, Washington

  • For CROC members

Catherine Creek gives us a great opportunity to explore contour lines. The ability to read and use contour lines is important for any intermediate or advanced orienteering course. We’ll learn how to read those squiggly brown lines: what’s up and what’s down; how to read steepness of the slope; and what’s a re-entrant. Contour skill is especially important in forested areas where there are no human-made objects. After the workshop, you can apply your skills in the CROC meet.

This training is offered at no cost for members of CROC. Register by October 6 for this workshop by using the on-line registration here, or sign up with the meet registration.

For questions and suggestions contact training coordinator Anndy Wiselogle.
