Phone Orienteering
June 28, 2025 10:00 a.m. - noon
Memorial Park in Wilsonville
For CROC members only
“Phone Orienteering” is a fun exercise, and we promise you’ll learn something!
Here’s how it works: You and a partner are connected via mobile phones. You get the map, and while comfortably sipping your lemonade, you direct your partner where to go to locate the half dozen controls on the map. When they complete the loop, then you switch roles, and your partner directs you over the phone to the other half dozen controls.
Everyone has a chance to be the “control freak” and to be the “boots on the ground.”
Required: a charged-up mobile phone, and a compass will be useful. [Not your old land line]
This workshop is for CROC members only; and there is no fee.
Phone-O starts at 10:00 a.m. sharp, so we can form teams and get started. Maps will be given out at the training, and people will be paired by orienteering speed.
Phone O is offered at no cost for members of CROC. Register by Thursday, June 26, by using the on-line waiver. For questions and suggestions, contact training coordinator Anndy Wiselogle. Once you register, we’ll send you the exact start location.
