Short Course Series: Reed Canyon
Wednesday, July 1, 2026
6:30-8:00 p.m.
Reed Canyon in SE Portland
For CROC members only
Every Wednesday evening, July 1-22, CROC will offer its members the opportunity to do a short orienteering course, starting between. 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. and finishing by 8:00. There’s one course of ~2.5 kilometers in an urban park in the Portland area. There’s no fee, no timing, no e-punch; just fun on a summer evening. You do have to register, so we know how many maps to print.
At Reed Canyon we’ll have a three-map relay (note: the map changes, not the orienteer). You or your team will get maps of three short courses, with a bit of navigating from the end of one course to the start of the next one. You’ll get to explore the Reed campus, sports fields, and the Reed Canyon natural area which bisects the campus.
The total length of the three courses is about 3 km, with some climbing.
Register here by June 29 and we’ll let you know where the start is. This training is for CROC members only; there is no cost. Questions? Comments? Contact course creator Virginia Church or training coordinator Anndy Wiselogle.
The next Short Courses are:
July 8: Sellwood Riverfront Park in southeast Portland
July 15: Council Crest in southwest Portland
July 22: Gabriel Park in southwest Portland
