Member Training: Advanced Orienteer Training at Billy Bob
September 26, 2026
10:00 am - 3:30 pm
Billy Bob SnoPark on Mt. Hood
For CROC members only
This advanced training on Mt. Hood lets us practice designing legs, setting controls, and doing a course as well! We’ll start at 10:00 a.m. at Billy Bob SnoPark (an hour and a half drive from Portland) when we form working pairs that will design and place two controls in an area of the map.
Next we map all the placed controls, and the Score-O begins! Participants will have two hours to reach as many controls as possible, with a severe reduction for coming in late. Then we debrief, comparing route choices and bruised muscles. We’ll be done by 3:30 or so.
Participants should have completed at least an orange-level course. There’s no fee for the training, as we’re all doing the work! Open to CROC members only.
CROC will provide water, and you provide your own lunch and snacks.
Register here by September 22 and we’ll send you the exact starting point. For questions and suggestions contact trainer Anndy.
